Ulrike Arnold paints with earth, minerals, and stones she finds at selected places all over the world. In her abstract lyrical landscapes she intuitively traces the diversity and characteristics of certain sceneries and magic places. Structures, shapes, and colors form a microcosm referring to natural greatness, the sublime, and transitoriness of distant areas. Light is of central concern for understanding as well origin as impression of the earth-paintings. Weather and light structure a natural landscape and evoke ist emotional impression. And it is light again which stimulates most different emotions looking at the landscape-paintings. The earth-painting is the medium. It allows to experience a landscape which materializes in an direct abstract expression.
